When was the last time you spent some quality time with yourself? It’s true that society encourages us to spend more time with friends and family. And there are strong reasons to do so because being around people you care can boost your mood right away.

Going out on a Friday night partying or talking to a friend over a glass of wine are all great and fun activities. But maybe we need to balance that with some time spent alone. And by alone we don’t mean in front of a screen Skyping or chatting on Facebook. We mean disconnected from our smartphones and other ways of getting in touch with our friends. Being in solitude for a while can be an interesting and valuable experience. Here are 4 reasons why spending time alone is good for you!

1. Spending time alone can boost your productivity.

Being around other people is fun, but it can sometimes distract us from our plans and goals. Having some time for ourselves will help us focus more on what we want to achieve and how we want to do it. It is the perfect opportunity to remind ourselves what really matters to us and start working on those projects.

2. Quality time alone can help you with your creativity.

We all know that the greatest works of art, whether they’re novels, paintings, or music records, were done in perfect seclusion. Because there are few external stimuli, you can focus better on what’s within. And you might be surprised to discover that a considerable amount of creativity is waiting to burst and be channeled.

3. Spending time alone will make you stronger and more confident.

Being on your own means you choose to rely on yourself for making decisions instead of always waiting for advice from friends. When you stop considering other people’s opinions, you turn to your thoughts and trust that you’ll make the right call.

4. Spending time with yourself can help you solve problems.

Again, when you’re free of distractions, you have a better chance at analyzing an issue before you can come up with solutions. Brilliant ideas usually spring when you are alone. And don’t forget that being in your company can also help you reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.

This is why solitude can be very good for you! Share this if you enjoy spending time alone!

Empathy, the ability to understand and feel what the other is going through, is both a blessing and a curse. For people who are extremely emphatic, putting themselves in the other's shoes can become overwhelming. You can feel like the wastebasket for other people's emotions. And therefore you might be tempted to put on an armor to protect yourself. But is there another way?

Witnessing other people's pain can activate the pain system in your own brain. So we can learn to become immune to it. But recent research shows that if you can catch negative feelings, the same ability for empathy can make us catch other people's joy.

In other words, you can catch joy from seeing somebody enjoying their meal, becoming a parent, learning something new or overcoming an important obstacle in their lives.

These small or bigger accomplishments of others can make us enjoy our own life more and stay tuned to hope when things aren't going great in own life.

So even though we are more inclined to feel the suffering of others rather than their happiness, we can cultivate this ability for positive empathy.

Because joy is contagious, try to be open to these little moments of bliss:

-Delight yourself by watching a child or an animal play

-Witness the skill, effort or artistry of a competition without taking side

-Listen carefully when somebody is telling you about their accomplishment

-Get your motivation from acknowledging the good deeds of others, their courage, honesty or kindness

-Don’t be afraid to let others help you; it will make them feel good about themselves and it will strengthen your bond

Allow yourself to be connected to everything that happens around you. Please share this!

Sometimes we are lucky enough to find someone whom our heart welcomes as if they were a long awaited guest in the house of love. We recognize them by the sweetness of the air around us that their presence brings about. By the calm that invades us when we think of them.

You can also know them by spotting these signs:

1. They will always tell you the truth
When you make a mistake, when you misjudge a situation or a person, when you make a bad decision, you hope that there will be somebody to tell it as it is. And if your partner can do that for you, if they can criticize you without making you feel small, you become more at ease with who you are. Strengths and weaknesses, they accept everything that you are. And that makes you want to be better.

2. They will unveil your potential
We all have hopes and dreams that we've abandoned because we feel like this is the price of being a rational, responsible adult. A true partner will make you unveil those forgotten aspirations, will refuse to look the other way when you are betraying what you can be. Their support and care is the ladder that takes you from where you are to where you want to go.

3. They will not give you easy answers
Small talk is the worst. But if you are forced to do it while in society, you don't have to go through the same with your loved ones. If your partner doesn't challenge your ideas, if he doesn't make you question what you thought you knew, your connection might not be that strong. Cherish your deep conversations, even your arguments, since they will make you see the world anew.

4. They will make you fearless
One of the things a true love will teach you is courage. He or she will take you in new adventures, beyond your comfort zone. You might feel that nothing is out of reach when you are together. Your past experiences will converge and give birth to new stories and discoveries. Learning together is a blessing.

True love is shelter. True love is both a life belt and a leap into new and cold waters. Please share this!

Our society at large needs women who are confident enough to make a change for the better, in their lives and in the lives of others. We believe passionate women will always find a way to commit to their goals and beliefs and inspire their peers. Being empowered does not mean having power over others but owning our strengths as well as weaknesses. Embracing who we truly are could make a difference in a little girl's life in the other corner of the planet. Here are 5 things confident women do to empower themselves and inspire us all:

1. They strive for great leadership skills.
Top leadership skills such as patience, empathy, discipline and sense of responsibility are much needed in today;s world. Strong women are aware that to make the smallest change they need to be able to develop these traits.
2. They surround themselves with people who empower them.
Confident women choose to be around other women like them, who want to be an inspiration for all of us. Being around people who share your life principles can motivate you further to achieve what you put your mind to.
3. They make healthy living a priority.
Strong and brave women recognize the fact that taking care of themselves is a priority. They know they can help others only if they’re healthy and well. So they try to make healthy choices regarding their diet, sleep, environment, exercise as well as attitude.  This also implies taking some time to relax every once in a while.
4. They step out of their comfort zone.
Comfort zones are ok for one thing: they're comfortable. But you know what they say: nothing really ever grows there. Women who want to make a difference get away from what’s comfortable into what scares them and they challenge others to join them.
5. They are self-aware and not afraid to show and embrace their emotions.
Confident women are always in touch with their feelings and emotions and encourage other women as well as men to believe that what they're feeling is right. They also know that it takes courage to show vulnerability.
This is how strong women stay on top! Please share this with all the wonderful women in your life!
